New publication on monostatic and bistatic polarimetry of snow cover

This work presents insights on temporal and spatial behaviour of polarimetric scattering properties of snow cover on top of the Great Aletsch Glacier at Ku-band.

In this work by Marcel Stefko, Philipp Bernhard, Othmar Frey and Irena Hajnsek, we made use of KAPRI, our ground-based full-polarimetric radar system, to acquire polarimetric data in monostatic and bistatic configurations. The presented data was acquired in years 2021-2022 at the High Altitude Research Station Jungfraujoch. The results give insights into previously unexplored bistatic polarimetric properties of snow cover and can serve as a reference for planning future ground measurement campaigns, as well as for development of spaceborne mission concepts.
